Brian Brewer is one of the best guitar players and singers in the south central PA area. He began performing at an early age with his parents gospel band and has been entertaining audiences ever since. He has performed with many bands such as Jay Armsworhty and the Eastern Tradtion, Roadside Cafe, and now Hickory Ridge. Both his guitar picking and his vocals will leave you wanting more. Adding to his list of talents is now songwriting in which he takes great pride.

Mike McDonald picked up his first musical instrument at the early age of 7 and began his journey as a guitarist taught to him by his grandfather. He was introduced to the world of bluegrass music by his best friend,Tommy, at the age of 12. He has been hooked on bluegrass ever since attending his first bluegrass festival in Gettysburg, PA where Little Roy Lewis captured his undevided attention. Since that time he has played with many bands including Cedar Ridge, Cross Creek, Strung Together and now for the past 5 years Hickory Ridge. He developed a love for the mandolin while playing with Cross Creek and also learned to enjoy the baratone vocal part. His passion for the bluegrass sound can easily be heard through both the perfected instrumental licks he performs as well as his heart felt vocal performances. He has also written a "hang on to your seat" insrtrumental.

Matt Hickman is a talented, self-taught banjo player following in his grandfather's footsteps. At age 11 his parents bought him his first banjo and he soon began to learn the clawhammer style of playing. Matt's desire to play "bluegrass style" began when he was introduced to Earl Scruggs' music. He has performed with many bands like Long Meadow Mining Co, Red Moon, Southern Sage, and now performs his undeniable sound with Hickory Ridge. Matt too has accomplished his resume by writing several instrumentals.

Lewis Layton has performed all over the country opening shows for many famous country artists. His solid bass playing and high tenor vocal round out the band. He spent many years touring and performing full time with Keystone Grass. Venues included none other than the Grand Ole Opry, the Silver Dollar City and Nashville Palace. He spends his time now with Hickory Ridge not only as a muscian and vocalist but also as a producer. He owns and operates Back Creek Records.
